SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) — Hanging lodge employees at Marriott resorts in San Francisco have reached a tentative settlement for a brand new contract, the union stated Thursday.

Members of the Unite Right here Native 2 union will vote Thursday on whether or not to ratify the tentative settlement, the union stated. The tentative settlement was reached Wednesday evening, in accordance with the union, following 5 days of negotiations.

If the contract is ratified, strikes will finish on the Palace Resort on New Montgomery Road, the San Francisco Mariott Marquis on Mission Road, San Francisco Marriott Union Sq. on Sutter Road, and the Westin St. Francis on Powell Road.

A spokesperson for Mariott on Thursday stated the corporate is “pleased to have reached a new labor agreement for our valued associates in San Francisco.”

No negotiations have begun with Hilton or Hyatt, in accordance with union spokesperson Ted Waechter, who stated the union has reached out asking to take action however haven’t acquired any response.

Michael D’Angelo, head of labor relations for Hyatt in America, stated in a Thursday e mail that the corporate is ready for the union to supply dates to renew “meaningful” negotiations.

“We look forward to continuing to negotiate fair contracts and recognize the contributions of Hyatt employees,” he stated.

Roughly 1,000 lodge employees at Hilton and Hyatt resorts within the metropolis stay on strike. Employees have been hanging for practically three months, picketing every day in Union Sq., which is the positioning of a Hilton and the close by Grand Hyatt on Stockton Road.

On Oct. 30, 85 hanging employees had been arrested in Union Sq. for blocking visitors on the cable automobile tracks on Powell Road.

Hanging employees are demanding to maintain their union medical insurance plan, wage will increase all through the lifetime of their contract, and protections towards understaffing and workload will increase, the union stated.

Hyatt stands by what it gives its workers.

“We have offered competitive wages, health care and retirement benefits at the hotel, including an economic package that maintains no-cost health care for our colleagues, providing an alternative to the current health fund that is affected by escalating costs,” stated D’Angelo.

In line with Waechter, the resorts began with a proposal that will remove the union well being care plan and now are proposing phasing out the well being care insurance coverage over time.

Hilton didn’t reply to a request for remark. Unite Right here Native 2 represents about 15,000 lodge, airport and meals service employees in San Francisco and San Mateo counties.
