Berkeley PD touts early success of license plate readers

(KRON) — An introductory interval of Berkeley’s automated license plate reader (ALPR) cameras that started Oct. 1 netted a dozen arrests and the restoration of 9 stolen automobiles, based on the Berkeley Police Division. On Thursday, police introduced that entry to the system has opened as much as your entire division.

The ALPR cameras at the moment are in operation in 32 places all through Berkeley, which can increase to 52 places as Caltrans finalizes permits.
