VALLEJO, Calif. (KRON) — Homicides. Sideshows. Property thefts.

These are a few of the crimes plaguing Vallejo. Now, residents are taking issues into their very own fingers and taking motion. Vallejo resident Paula Conley says her group is upset about escalating crime of their metropolis.

“We want to live in a safer city, said Conley. “The (crime) charges are too excessive, we want higher public security.”

In response, Conley began a Change.org marketing campaign to assemble signatures to ship to Governor Gavin Newsom pleading to ship California Freeway Patrol (CHP) officers to town.

“It has worked,” Conley mentioned.

Conley factors out how the governor’s placement of CHP officers within the East Bay, together with Oakland has made a major distinction.

Again in February, CHP officers swooped in. In November, the governor’s workplace reported that the surge led to 1,200 arrests, 2,000 stolen autos recovered and 100 unlawful firearms recovered.
