Suspect in murder of Washington toddler arrested in Alameda

(KRON) — A person linked to the deadly capturing of a 2-year-old in April was arrested in Alameda on Wednesday, the Alameda Police Division stated. The sufferer was struck by a bullet within the car parking zone of an IHOP in Federal Approach, Wash.

APD took 31-year-old Jerome Lewis into custody, describing him as a suspect within the capturing. Lewis was residing at a city-owned dwelling for homeless individuals in Alameda.

The capturing occurred on April 4 simply earlier than 10 a.m. The Federal Approach Police Division responded to a capturing name within the IHOP car parking zone and was knowledgeable minutes later that the younger sufferer had arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound.

Lewis is the second suspect to be arrested on this case. A 17-year-old suspect was arrested on Oct. 2 and might be charged as an grownup.

Police arrested Lewis on a warrant for first-degree homicide. The Federal Approach Mirror reported that Lewis was the getaway driver, and the juvenile suspect shot the boy and his father.

Lewis might be extradited to Washington, and his bail is ready at $3 million. He doesn’t have a felony report in Alameda.
