VTA to offer free transit service on New 12 months's Eve

(BCN) — The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) will present free transit service on New 12 months’s Eve to assist deter consuming and driving.

Bus and light-weight rail service shall be free from 8 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2024, to five a.m. on Jan. 1, 2025. They may run on a Sunday/Vacation schedule on New 12 months’s Day, VTA mentioned in a press launch.

The sunshine rail blue and inexperienced strains will function prolonged service with the final trains leaving round 1:30 a.m. on New 12 months’s Day.

The sunshine rail orange line will supply later service trains between the Baypointe and Alum Rock stations. The final eastbound practice will depart Baypointe Station at 12:27 a.m. and the final westbound practice will go away Alum Rock station at 12:58 a.m.

Along with free rides on New 12 months’s Eve, VTA’s seasonal historic trolly shall be working this upcoming weekend. A trolley will journey each hour between the Civic Heart and Diridon stations from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Rides on the historic trolley may even be free.
