Pedestrian killed in San Jose’s first visitors fatality of 2025

(KRON) — A person who was strolling outdoors of a North San Jose crosswalk on Monday was struck and killed by a car, in line with the San Jose Police Division. The incident marks town’s first visitors fatality of 2025.

Emergency crews responded at 10:33 p.m. to the world of Berryessa and Sierra roads on the report of a pedestrian-involved car collision. The pedestrian, an grownup male, was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening accidents the place he was later pronounced deceased, police mentioned.

SJPD’s Visitors Investigations Unit mentioned the pedestrian was crossing Berryessa Highway southbound on the Sierra Highway intersection. He was strolling simply outdoors of the crosswalk when a 2001 silver Toyota SUV that was being pushed eastbound on Berryessa Highway went via a inexperienced gentle and struck him, in line with the preliminary investigation.

The motive force of the Toyota, an grownup male, remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police mentioned.

Authorities didn’t launch the identification of the pedestrian.
