SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Artist Marco Cochrane’s “R-Evolution,” a surprising 45-foot-tall sculpture of a unadorned girl, shall be unveiled in San Francisco’s Union Sq. in February.
The sculpture is a logo of “feminine strength and empowerment,” in keeping with organizers of the mission. Initially created as a part of a triptych for the 2015 Burning Man competition, the nude determine will stay in Union Sq. Park from February 6 by the top of Could.

“Public art has long served as a powerful medium for uniting communities, sparking conversation, and inspiring fresh perspectives,” stated Marisa Rodriguez, CEO of Union Sq. Alliance. “R-Evolution will help people see Union Square from a new perspective while inspiring appreciation for the power of public art.”

R-Evolution is fabricated from metal rod and tubing with two layers of geodesic triangles and coated by stainless-steel mesh, creating an in depth and dynamic interaction of sunshine and type.

The sculpture “breathes” for one hour every day utilizing a kinetic characteristic. At evening, she shall be illuminated with a radiant glow.
“Public art is a cornerstone of San Francisco’s cultural identity, reflecting the diverse, creative spirit that helps establish our city as a world class destination for self-expression,” stated Ralph Remington, director of cultural affairs. “The temporary installation of R-Evolution in Union Square, in the heart of San Francisco, is a celebration of that spirit.”

An official unveiling of R-Evolution will happen at a public celebration on February 6, from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Union Sq. Park. The celebration will characteristic a mixture of Burning Man-inspired music and stay DJ performances.
