SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A San Francisco man was arrested on Wednesday for his involvement within the Jan. 6, 2021 riots on the U.S. Capitol., america Division of Justice mentioned. Frank Peter Molinari Giorgi Jr., 36, is accused of assaulting regulation enforcement on that day.

Based on courtroom paperwork, Giorgi emerged from the gang of individuals broaching police traces and charged at a Capitol police officer. He then lunged into the officer and hit them with each fingers, paperwork allege.

Giorgi retreated into the gang after the officer held him off. The FBI later launched a picture of him when attempting to determine rioters.

About two hours later, Giorgi was seen in opposition to on the Capitol’s higher west terrace in a brand new hat. Officers had been working to push rioters again when he allegedly moved via the gang towards the officers.

Giorgi is accused of pushing again in opposition to the officers as they tried to maneuver the gang. He later allegedly grabbed an officer’s head and neck, pulling them to the gang.

Assaulting, resisting, or impeding sure officers (felony)

Act of bodily violence within the Capitol grounds or buildings (misdemeanor)

Giorgi is one in every of greater than 1,583 individuals to be charged associated to the Capitol breach. Greater than 600 individuals have been charged with assaulting or impeding regulation enforcement.
