Knife-wielding suspect in Walmart pepper spray assault tackled by officers: PD

(KRON) — The Rohnert Park Division of Public Security (RPDOPS) mentioned a person armed with a knife was tackled by officers within the parking zone after happening a pepper spray assault at Walmart by which he focused a number of individuals, together with an worker.

RPDOPS mentioned it acquired a name at 2:28 p.m. reporting a combat within the electronics part of Walmart on the 4600 block of Redwood Drive. When officers arrived, they found the suspect had left the shop however quickly tracked him down within the parking zone the place he was holding a big knife.

Officers mentioned the person dropped the knife after a short standoff however wouldn’t adjust to officers’ instructions to give up. After the person refused once more to give up, officers tackled the suspect and took him into custody. Officers mentioned, “the suspect continued to resist so officers had to place him in a ‘maximum restraint’ which immobilizes his arms torso and legs.”

The Rohnert Park Division of Public Security mentioned they realized the suspect, recognized as Randolf Knoblock, 45, of Santa Rosa, had assaulted a number of individuals through the incident. It’s not but clear what led to the pepper spray assault.

Knoblock was booked into jail for assault with pepper spray and assault with a lethal weapon. Officers mentioned his bail was elevated as a result of “unprovoked nature of the assaults.”

RPDOPS mentioned two prospects had been handled and launched on the scene for publicity to pepper spray.
