Three individuals suspected of a string of burglaries in Santa Clara County concentrating on Asian American households have been arrested this week in a joint legislation enforcement operation. 

The police departments of San Jose, Campbell and Mountain View fashioned a joint investigation together with the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Workplace after a tip in December led legislation enforcement to consider {that a} sequence of burglaries in these and different cities have been related. 

San Jose Police Chief Paul Joseph stated at a press convention on Wednesday that the three suspects are accused of stealing over 700 items of stolen property with a complete worth estimated at about $1 million. 

Joseph stated the burglaries began in September final yr. Stolen gadgets included jewellery, international forex, firearms, purses, watches and household heirlooms.

He stated the three are suspected of being half of a bigger housebreaking ring, the scale of which Jospeh couldn’t estimate. 

“We have some in custody, we may not have everyone in custody,” Joseph stated in response to a reporter’s query. 

The suspects are 25-year-old Stockton resident Alberto Ibarra Vallejo, 46-year-old Hayward resident Jaime Arroyo Martinez, and Gonzalo Valencia Ramos, a 28-year-old French Camp resident.

The three are suspected of committing about 30 residential burglaries in San Jose, concentrating on residences within the West Valley neighborhood. One other 18 have been allegedly dedicated in Cupertino and Saratoga, 20 in Mountain View, and 11 in Campbell.

They’re going through at the very least 72 counts of housebreaking and will withstand life in jail if convicted, Santa Clara District Lawyer Jeff Rosen stated on the press convention. He stated hate crime enhancements can be utilized as a result of the suspects allegedly focused homes occupied by Asian American and Pacific Islander residents. 

“We hope the arrests in this case will begin to restore a sense of security that was stolen from these families,” Joseph stated.
