Pinole Safeway closing in early April

(KRON) — On the identical day a Safeway close to San Francisco’s Fillmore District closed for good phrase got here that the grocery chain would quickly be closing one other Bay Space location. The Pinole Safeway at 1421 Tara Hill Drive will shut in early April, KRON4.com has confirmed.

All staff on the location will probably be transferred to different shops within the space, a Safeway spokesperson advised KRON4.

“We have been proud to serve the City of Pinole over the years, and this decision was not made lightly,” an organization spokesperson stated. “With our lease ending, we have carefully considered our options and decided to shift our strategy.”

Safeway, the spokesperson stated, stays “dedicated to serving the Pinole community” at a location in close by Hercules.

“The 65,775 square-foot Hercules Safeway offers a variety of fresh offerings, local products, and ready-to-serve options, as well as a fuel station and pharmacy,” a spokesperson stated.

The Hercules location at 4080 San Pablo Avenue is about three and a half miles from the Pinole retailer.

A Safeway spokesperson additionally stated employees on the San Francisco Fillmore-District location on Webster Road could be reassigned to different places within the space.

“We remain committed to serving San Francisco at our remaining 15 locations,” the spokesperson stated.
