SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KRON) — A person jumped off a cliff into the ocean at Wilder Ranch State Park north of Santa Cruz and vanished on Tuesday, emergency officers stated.

The incident occurred round 10:30 a.m. Witnesses stated the person jumped into the ocean under and tried to swim again to shore. He was unable to achieve land as a result of he was overpowered by robust currents and large waves, firefighters stated.

Officers didn’t launch the lacking man’s identify.

Waves breaking between 15-18 toes are pounding many Central and Northern California seashores. A big north-west swell triggered a Seaside Hazards Assertion from the Nationwide Climate Service that can stay in impact via Wednesday.
