San Francisco Tulip Day returns this March with 80,000 flowers

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Francisco is celebrating Worldwide Girls’s Day by reworking Union Sq. into an attractive tulip backyard with 80,000 flowers on Saturday, March 22.

On Tulip Day, everyone seems to be invited to choose a free bouquet of colourful tulips for themselves or give the flowers away to an inspirational girl.

The group internet hosting San Francisco Tulip Day 2025, Union Sq. Alliance, mentioned tulips function symbols for altering seasons, development, and celebrating ladies.

“We are welcoming the changing seasons and celebrating San Francisco’s continued growth and revitalization at the heart of the city,” said Marisa Rodriguez, CEO of Union Square Alliance. “These flowers characterize vitality and development, and with Spring now upon us, we will sit up for the longer term with confidence and positivity.”

The tulips had been grown in America from Dutch bulbs.

“Tulip Day has become a beloved tradition and a symbol of the friendship between the Netherlands and San Francisco,” mentioned Theo Peters, consul-general of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in San Francisco. “We are proud to be working with Union Square Alliance to bring this celebration to life for the seventh time.”

Occasion Tips:

The tulip backyard opens to the general public on March 22 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

You’ll have 5 minutes within the backyard and will decide as much as 8 tulips.
