(KRON) — Two ladies concerned in an incident wherein a neighbor’s canine was violently kicked have been charged with cruelty to an animal, the Contra Costa County District Legal professional’s workplace introduced on Friday. The incident, which was caught on video and went viral on social media, befell in a Pittsburg neighborhood final month.

The ladies, later recognized as 46-year-old Lagashia Shante Williams and 18-year-old Graciela Amar, have been arrested and booked into the Martinez and West County Detention Amenities on Feb. 27, based on the DA. They have been launched after posting bail of $172,500 on March 1 and March 2 respectively.

Based on the DA, the incident started when Williams and Amar confronted the canine proprietor in his driveway relating to an incident involving an aged neighbor. The neighbor, the DA stated, had unintentionally run over the canine proprietor’s plant whereas backing right into a driveway.

In the course of the confrontation, which escalated into an argument, Amar walked towards a car and retrieved what turned out to be an imitation firearm and handed it to Williams, the DA stated. Because the argument continued, Williams brandished the imitation weapon, inflicting the canine proprietor to again away and decide up one of many canine.

As he was backing up, Williams advised Amar to kick the opposite canine. She did and the power of the kick despatched the animal “aloft through the air,” the DA stated. It landed on the house owner’s garden. He picked up the wounded animal, which was crying out, and took it inside.
