Two girls who brandished a gun and kicked a canine in Pittsburg in an incident that was videotaped and extensively shared had been charged with cruelty to an animal and brandishing an imitation firearm.

The Contra Costa County District Legal professional’s Workplace stated Friday 46-year-old Lagashia Shante Williams and 18-year-old Graciela Amar had been arrested and booked into the Martinez and West County detention services Feb. 27.

Each had been launched after posting bail of $172,500.

On Feb. 19, Williams and Amar confronted a home-owner in his driveway over an incident involving his aged neighbor, who by accident ran over the home-owner’s plant whereas backing right into a driveway.

The dialog escalated into an argument and Amar pulled what turned out to be an imitation firearm from a car and handed it to Williams. The girl brandished the faux weapon, inflicting the home-owner to again away.

The home-owner picked up certainly one of his two canine and walked away. Williams then instructed Amar to kick the opposite canine, which she did.

Police arrest Lagashia Shante Williams, 46, and Graciela Amar, 18, on Feb. 27, 2025, in reference to a dog-kicking incident three days earlier in Pittsburg. The DA’s workplace stated Amar kicked the canine into the air. It landed a number of ft away on the garden. The home-owner picked up the wounded and crying canine and went inside his residence.

Williams then referred to as 911 and instructed dispatch the home-owner had a gun, a declare the DA’s workplace stated was false.

Each girls had been charged with cruelty to animals and drawing or exhibiting an imitation firearm in a threatening method. Williams has been charged with making a false report.

If convicted, each might be sentenced to a most of three years in jail and fined as much as $20,000.
