Starting next month, commuters and visitors using the Seaplane Lagoon Ferry Terminal will be subject to new parking fees as part of Alameda’s initiative to manage the growing demand for parking spaces. The city council approved a tiered payment system designed to encourage turnover and discourage long-term parking in the terminal’s limited lot. Rates will range from $2 per hour to a maximum daily charge of $15, payable via mobile app or at on-site kiosks.

The new fees aim to alleviate congestion and support maintenance costs for the facility, which has seen a steady rise in passenger numbers over the past year. Key details include:

  • Early bird discount: $1 flat rate for vehicles parked before 8 a.m.
  • Accessible parking: Reserved spaces with no fees for disabled permit holders
  • Monthly permits: Available for regular commuters at $120 per month
