(KRON) — Final week, the Safeway in San Francisco’s Fillmore District controversially closed its doorways for good. That very same day, it was reported one other location in Pinole is about to shut this April.

The development continues as one other Safeway within the Bay Space is closing. One of many grocery chain’s Vallejo shops is shutting down this spring, a Safeway spokesperson confirmed to KRON4.

The placement on Admiral Callaghan Lane is closing on or round April 11, based on the Safeway spokesperson. Safeway cited “ongoing safety concerns” and “financial performance” as causes to close down considered one of its three Vallejo shops.

“This decision was made after careful consideration and evaluation of the store’s financial performance and ongoing safety concerns,” an announcement from Safeway learn partly.

The workers on the closing retailer can be assigned to a special location. The 2 different Safeway shops open in Vallejo are on Robles Manner and Lincoln Highway.

Safeway mentioned the Pinole retailer’s lease ending was one of many causes for its closure. The corporate didn’t particularly cite security considerations. Nevertheless, that was not the case for the San Francisco retailer.

The Fillmore location closed due to points with security and theft. That retailer was open for 40 years.
