(KRON) — A suspect in connection to a big organized retail theft ring within the Bay Space was arrested, the California Freeway Patrol introduced Tuesday. The investigation, which was launched in July 2024, found that varied companies throughout the Bay Space had been being focused.

The stolen merchandise recovered was valued at a complete of greater than $779,000, based on CHP. The investigation led to the invention of a fencing operation primarily based in Oakland. CHP didn’t specify which tales the merchandise was stolen from.

Two weeks in the past on Feb. 27, a retail crime activity power executed a search warrant at an Oakland residence and two search services — the second search in six months, CHP stated. That is the place authorities discovered the stolen merchandise and later recovered the objects.

A 41-year-old Oakland girl was arrested in connection to the retail theft. She was booked into the Alameda County Jail on costs of organized retail crime, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy to commit a criminal offense.

The Alameda County District Lawyer’s Workplace formally filed costs towards the Oakland girl on March 3, CHP stated. “This is a great example of law enforcement working in collaboration,” stated Alameda County District Lawyer Ursula Jones Dickson. “We now focus on prosecuting those allegedly responsible to ensure justice is served.”
