SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) — A 15-year-old boy was on a date together with his girlfriend for Valentine’s Day when he was violently slain on Santana Row in San Jose, the boy’s household mentioned.

A verified GoFundMe web page recognized the younger murder sufferer as David S. Gutierrez. San Jose cops mentioned they had been alerted to a struggle involving a number of individuals at 7:14 p.m. Friday on Santana Row, a well-liked space for purchasing and restaurant eating.

Gutierrez was “attacked by a group of juveniles … while he was on a date with his girlfriend to celebrate Valentine’s Day. He was beaten and then stabbed in the heart. David fought for his life but didn’t make it to surgery.”

The boy died at a hospital from his stab wounds, police mentioned. “The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival and remain unidentified,” San Jose Police Division Sgt. Jorge Garibay wrote.

Regulation enforcement officers haven’t launched the boy’s title.

Gutierrez was a member of Gladiators Boxing Gymnasium in Redwood Metropolis, the place kids and adults practice for competitions. The fitness center’s Fb web page states, “Rest in Peace, David S. Gutierrez. It is with a heavy heart that we share the tragic loss of one of our own. David S. Gutierrez, a 15-year-old member of Gladiators Gym, was taken from us far too soon. He was more than just a fighter — he was family, full of heart, determination, and a bright future ahead.”

The GoFundMe was set as much as assist his grieving household pay for funeral bills.

Extra violence flared in San Jose simply earlier than 12:30 a.m. Sunday in San Pedro Sq. when an enormous brawl broke out. When cops arrived and tried to interrupt up the fights, some assailants fled, whereas others turned on the officers. A number of officers had been attacked earlier than backup arrived. Eight individuals had been arrested in connection to the brawl they usually had been booked into jail.

Mayor Matt Mahan mentioned, “Whenever violence occurs in San Jose, we respond swiftly, professionally, and thoroughly to hold criminals accountable and keep our residents safe. Our police department is actively investigating both incidents, and I’m confident we will soon uncover the motives behind these acts and ensure justice is delivered.”
