(KRON) – A suspected thief gave cops his brother’s identify throughout arrest, based on the Colma Police Division.

At 4:35 p.m. on Jan. 10, Colma cops responded to a retailer on Colma Boulevard for the report of a theft. Police dispatch was knowledgeable {that a} man took a number of gadgets and fled the shop on foot.

Responding officers detained a person who matched the suspect’s description. The person was later recognized as San Francisco resident Marcus Montalvo. After retailer workers recognized the suspect, he was arrested.

In response to police, Montalvo, 38, gave his brother’s identify as identification.

Police realized Montalvo’s precise identify, officers found he has a $40,000 misdemeanor warrant for his arrest from a neighboring company. Montalvo additionally has two prior theft convictions that occurred greater than 16 years previous to this theft. 

Colma PD mentioned Montalvo shoplifted roughly $217.02 value of merchandise. In looking out Montalvo, officers mentioned they discovered a California license not belonging to Montalvo.

Montalvo was arrested and booked within the San Mateo County Jail for felony theft with priors, shoplifting, giving false identification to cops, misappropriation of discovered property, and his warrant.
