California group and political leaders react to taking pictures at spiritual faculty

Neighborhood and political leaders from California are sharing messages of help after two kindergarteners had been shot at a non secular faculty in Butte County on Wednesday afternoon.

Sheriff Kory Honea mentioned the boys, ages 5 and 6, had been hospitalized after the taking pictures and that the suspected gunman died from what seemed to be a self-inflicted gunshot.

Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea

“Many of you have come to Butte County to cover major incidents, disasters…so we’re no stranger to those kinds of things, but when you’re talking about little kids like this, who can’t defend themselves, it really does tear at the heart.”

“I want to talk with school administrators and find the right course of action and be willing to provide them with whatever support they think is necessary.”

Assemblymember James Gallagher, District 3

“My heart is breaking for everyone impacted by this tragedy. We will never understand why or how someone could do a thing like this. I am grateful for the bravery of the law enforcement, fire and medical personnel who responded to this attack to stop the shooter and rescue the victims. As a community, we’ll all be hugging our loved ones closer today as we pray for the victims and try to make sense of something so senseless.”

“BCOE is aware of the shooting incident that occurred earlier this afternoon at Feather River Adventist School near Palermo. At this time, students are actively being transported to safety. Our sympathies are with the children and families of Feather River Adventist and we are working with them to provide support however we can.”

“Following the tragic shooting in Butte County, @Cal_OES is on scene to support the Butte County Sheriff’s Office with resources for response and investigation. Our hearts are with those affected.”

California Governor Gavin Newsom

“Heartbreaking. Once again, a community is shattered by senseless gun violence. Our hearts are with the children, their families, and everyone impacted by this horrific tragedy. To the survivors of gun violence: You are never alone. California stands with you.”

FBI Sacramento Particular Agent in Cost Sid Patel

“No community should be impacted by the senseless violence of a school shooting, especially during the holidays. Our hearts are broken for the families, employees, volunteers and responders affected by the shooting at Feather River Adventist School.”

“FBI personnel remain on scene, working to support the Butte County Sheriff’s Office to find answers for the victims and the community. The FBI is deeply committed to this effort, leveraging all available resources to further this investigation, support the families of injured children, and help the community heal.”
