(KRON) — Some cellphone customers in San Francisco obtained an emergency alert Monday afternoon. Telephones sounded the emergency alert tone after a notification mentioned that an endangered grownup was lacking.
Nevertheless, as soon as the hyperlink was clicked, it initially took the person to a webpage that contained a “404 error.” Minutes later, the hyperlink within the Silver Alert took the person to an X submit by Jane Manchun Wong (@wongmjane), which mentioned “did they just push a 404 link to everyone????”
Wong is listed as a safety researcher and is on Forbes’ 30 Underneath 30 listing. She has greater than 166,000 followers on X.
KRON4 first reached out to the San Francisco Division of Emergency Administration and was advised to contact California Freeway Patrol.
CHP confirmed there was a Silver Alert issued on behalf of the Nationwide Parks Service and mentioned to contact the Nationwide Park Service’s San Francisco workplace. We’re ready to listen to again for extra data.
