(KRON) – The U.S. Justice Division introduced it has reached a five-year settlement with the Metropolis of Antioch and the Antioch Police Division concerning a racial discrimination investigation on Friday, in response to each departments.
In accordance with the Division of Justice, the investigation stemmed from discriminatory textual content communications that dozens of Antioch law enforcement officials allegedly exchanged between September 2019 and January 2022. Three former Antioch law enforcement officials who have been on the heart of the textual content messaging scandal will likely be placed on trial this yr. The investigation was led by the U.S. Lawyer’s Workplace and the Justice Division’s Civil Rights Division.
