East Bay Bait Bike Trap: Suspect Caught Red-Handed in Grand Theft!

(KRON) — A “strategically placed” bait bike geared up with a GPS tracker was stolen within the East Bay final week, the Danville Police Division introduced Saturday.

The bait bike, very like bait vehicles, is utilized by police to catch thieves within the act. “The hope is the thieves will target our bike and not a residents,” Danville PD mentioned in a social media publish.

Officers responded on Dec. 16 at round 8:30 a.m. after a person allegedly stole the Danville bait bike, authorities mentioned. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail for grand theft of the bicycle.

Danville police advise bicycle house owners to make use of two locks for extra safety, lock up bikes in busy areas, safe each the body and the wheels within the lock and use safety bolts for quick-release elements.
