“We are happy to be celebrating the reopening of the Lafayette-Moraga Regional Trail with the community,” mentioned East Bay Regional Park District Basic Supervisor Sabrina Landreth. “Regional trails such as the Lafayette-Moraga Regional Trail serve an important role in the community, providing healthy recreation, green transportation alternatives, and safe routes to school for schoolchildren.”

The park district labored with the East Bay Municipal Utility District and the City of Moraga to reconstruct the path and stabilize slopes within the space. Moraga changed the Canyon Highway Bridge in 2020.

In full, the path stretches 7.65 miles between Lafayette and Moraga. Birders, bicyclists hikers and horseback riders all use it.

The path has entrances at Olympic Boulevard, St. Mary’s Highway, Lucille Lane and Moraga Highway.
