Flu loss of life confirmed in San Francisco

(KRON) — The San Francisco Division of Public Well being (SFDPH) has confirmed a San Francisco resident has died because of influenza (flu) of the respiratory season. It’s the first reported flu-related loss of life of the autumn season.

Officers confirmed in a press launch that the individual was “over the age of 65 and had not received the annual flu vaccine.”

The title of the person has not but been launched.

It’s believed to be San Francisco’s first loss of life tied to the flu since Jan. 16 when the well being company reported a sufferer beneath the age of 65, “who was not vaccinated and had preexisting medical conditions,” had handed away.

Stick with KRON4 for extra on this growing story.
