Get Ready for a Rainy Christmas Eve in the Bay Area!

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A parade of storms will drench the San Francisco Bay Space main as much as Christmas Eve, forecasters stated. A triple punch of three storms will drop rain throughout the area between this weekend and Christmas Eve.

KRON4 Meteorologist Kyla Grogan stated the primary storm will blow in early Saturday morning, the second on Sunday afternoon, and the third on Monday. Rain showers will proceed into Tuesday.

That Nationwide Climate Service wrote, “The first two systems over the weekend look to be largely unimpactful in terms of flooding; however, these weekend rains will provide the antecedent conditions for the more impactful systems next week. As soils approach saturation it is more likely that trees will fall, mud and rock will slide, and creeks and streams will rise. Winds will also increase with the passage of each system with gusts up to 45 mph likely in the higher terrain.”

As soon as soils change into saturated and rivers are rising through the third storm, the chance of flooding will enhance, Grogan stated.

Christmas Day will usher sunshine and dry skies again into the Bay Space.

A excessive surf advisory will go into impact at dawn Saturday. A protracted-period westerly swell will carry extra huge waves on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, the NWS stated.

State park officers stated seashores stretching from Santa Cruz County to San Mateo County shall be pounded with highly effective surf. “West-facing beaches can expect surf in the 10’-20’ size range, with more exposed coastline seeing surf that may double that size. These swell events will create dangerous rip currents, large set waves, and tidal surges,” park officers wrote.
