(KRON) — A person faces gun-related expenses after a Hayward police Okay-9 positioned a handgun hidden inside a house over the weekend, the Hayward Police Division introduced Wednesday.

Police responded to a residence in Hayward after a person allegedly entered his estranged household’s residence and assaulted an aged relative, in response to authorities. On the time of the alleged assault, the suspect was armed with a handgun.

After the person was detained, officers realized that he had hidden the gun someplace inside the home the place the household and kids reside. The household expressed a “strong desire” to have the weapon positioned and eliminated, Hayward PD mentioned.

Officer Higgins and Okay-9 Arwin responded to conduct a search of the residence. Okay-9 Arwin was capable of rapidly discover the hidden gun and alert his handler.
