(KRON) — BART practice service between Walnut Creek and Harmony can be suspended on Jan. 18 and 19 as crews work to switch outdated observe infrastructure, the Bay Space Speedy Transit District introduced. A free bus bridge can be supplied to BART riders throughout the closure.

The weekend closure will permit staff to switch decades-old observe elements. “To allow for the work to happen in the most efficient way possible as well as to provide safe conditions for workers, there will be no train service between Walnut Creek and Concord on Saturday January 18 and Sunday January 19,” the transit company stated in an advisory.

Important Trackwork Ahead: BART Service Disruptions and Bus Bridge Alternatives(Bay Space Speedy Transit District)

BART riders needing to maneuver between the stations can as an alternative take a free bus that may transfer between BART’s Walnut Creek, Nice Hill/Contra Costa Centre and Harmony stations. Whereas the bus bridge is in place, commuters should face delays of 20 to half-hour within the work areas, BART stated.

Some early-morning and late-night trains may even be impacted by the observe work. BART launched the next schedule modifications:

Saturday morning

The primary southbound trains departing Harmony at 5:37 a.m. and 5:57 a.m. can be canceled

As an alternative, the primary southbound trains going to San Francisco will depart Walnut Creek at 5:45 a.m., 6:05 a.m. and 6:25 a.m.

For southbound passengers, buses will depart Harmony at 5:23 a.m., 5:43 a.m., and 6:03 a.m. and Nice Hill at 5:30 a.m., 5:50 a.m. and 6:10 a.m. to attach with these trains

Saturday and Sunday nights

The final southbound practice departing Antioch at 11:58 p.m. and Pittsburg/Bay Level at 12:12 a.m. can be canceled

Riders should take the sooner southbound practice, which departs Antioch at 11:32 p.m. and Pittsburg/Bay Level at 11:46 p.m.

Sunday morning

The primary southbound trains departing Harmony at 7:37 a.m. and seven:57 a.m. can be canceled.

As an alternative, the primary southbound trains going to San Francisco will depart Walnut Creek Station at 7:45 a.m., 8:05 a.m. and eight:25 a.m.

Buses will depart Harmony at 7:23 a.m., 7:43 a.m., and eight:03 a.m. and Nice Hill at 7:30 a.m., 7:50 a.m. and eight:10 a.m. to attach with these trains.
