Liccardo Teams Up with Home ‘Speedy Response’ Group to Challenge Trump Administration Policies

(KRON) — A Bay Space congressman has joined a Democratic process pressure within the Home shaped to push again in opposition to President Donald Trump’s onslaught of government orders. Rep. Sam Liccardo (CA-16) has joined the Home Democrats Speedy Response Job Pressure & Litigation Working Group, his workplace introduced on Friday.

Liccardo, a former federal prosecutor and San Jose mayor, will deliver “real world experience to help fight back against Trump’s unconstitutional overreach,” his workplace mentioned in an announcement. The Home process pressure will work with “pro-democracy partners” to restrict or halt actions from the Trump administration it views as overreaching.

“The Trump administration’s first month has been mired in unconstitutional and illegal executive actions, or what I call ‘executive disorders,'” Liccardo mentioned. “Many of these actions have been taken under the guise of government efficiency, but have wrought the opposite effect, as we witness the administration scramble to rescind terminations of key former employees responsible for nuclear safety, for example.”

“The tragic consequences will become increasingly painful to millions of Americans, as indiscriminate cuts to the Federal Aviation Administration will make air travel more perilous, cuts to the Forest Service will make California more vulnerable to wildfires, and layoffs at the IRS will delay refund checks to taxpayers,” Liccardo continued.

In response to the congressman, greater than 70 circumstances have already been filed, and courts have issued 29 injunctions limiting or halting Trump administration actions. Amongst these circumstances, two separate circumstances have been filed this month arguing that the institution of the Division of Authorities Effectivity (DOGE) and Elon Musk’s position within the company with out Senate affirmation, violates the Structure’s Appointment’s Clause.

A category motion lawsuit has additionally been filed aimed on the Trump administration’s abrupt termination of hundreds of probationary federal workers.

“Litigation has successfully blocked most of President Trump’s ‘Executive Disorders’ and he and Musk’s minions continue flailing and failing,” Liccardo mentioned. “Congress must use all lawful means necessary to protect the American people and our Constitution.”
