Man arrested after rooftop standoff following Greenbrae housebreaking

(BCN) — A person was arrested after allegedly robbing a laundromat in Greenbrae, Central Marin police stated.

Police responded to the report of a housebreaking in progress on Thursday at round 11:30 p.m. within the 2100 block of Redwood Freeway.

Francisco Lugo Garcia, 36, from San Rafael, reportedly drilled out the money machine of a laundromat earlier than escaping by means of the institution’s attic onto the roof, police stated.

Lugo Garcia reportedly jumped from roof to roof whereas officers arrange a fringe and urged him to return down safely, in line with a Friday press launch.

Nonetheless, Lugo Garcia reportedly introduced a suspected black semi-automatic handgun from his waistband and waved it round within the path of the officers and deputies, authorities stated.

After orders to drop the gun, Lugo Garcia complied and threw it off the roof.

After roughly 25 minutes of negotiations, Lugo Garcia surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody.

Lugo Garcia is dealing with expenses of alleged housebreaking, felony vandalism, resisting arrest, and brandishing a duplicate firearm, in line with police.

He’s booked into the Marin County Jail.

The gun was later recognized as a loaded black pellet gun void of orange security markings, police famous.
