Millbrae Metropolis Council votes 'no confidence' in opposition to embattled Sheriff Corpus

MILLBRAE, Calif. (KRON) – The mistrust is rising for San Mateo County Sheriff Christina Corpus. One other metropolis council took a vote of “no confidence” in opposition to the sheriff, who faces a slew of accusations together with racism, homophobia and abuse of energy. The sheriff has denied the entire allegations.

The 5-0 vote got here after the council members heard a number of testimonies in help of and in opposition to the embattled sheriff. Quite a few sheriff’s deputies attending the assembly stated they need Corpus to resign.

Talking on behalf of the sheriff’s workplace, Julie Lind with the San Mateo Labor Council claimed  Corpus created a poisonous work setting.

“Just as we want Millbrae to safe, we should want the people to protect it to be safe at work. The sheriff’s administration is beyond repair. There’s no righting this ship as she remains as captain. No one is above the law, and public officials must uphold the highest standard of integrity and accountability,” Lind stated.

Others in help of sheriff Corpus say she is the rationale why streets in San Mateo County are secure and that the entire allegations in opposition to Corpus are nothing however a “witch hunt.”

“She’s always been righteous and dedicated to the mission of civil rights. In my opinion, I’m sharing the Corpus that I know, it seems to me that the play of the day is guilty before proven innocent,” stated one neighborhood member.
