Napa Parents on High Alert After Disturbing Kidnapping Hoax

(KRON) — Authorities within the North Bay are warning group members after a toddler kidnapping hoax was reported on Tuesday.

The Calistoga Police Division mentioned a mother or father in Napa obtained a cellphone name from an individual who claimed to have kidnapped their daughter. The unknown caller then performed a recording of a younger woman’s voice within the background. In line with authorities, the perpetrator within the rip-off was making an attempt to persuade the mother or father that their daughter was in peril.

Following the cellphone name, the mother or father contacted the Calistoga Unified College District. The college confirmed that their daughter was in her classroom and secure, police mentioned.

Calistoga police urged residents in a social media submit to “stay vigilant, as criminals often exploit unsuspecting individuals with various scams, including this alarming kidnapping hoax.”

Hoax calls ought to be reported to native police, Calistoga PD mentioned.
