North Seashore Classic Store Faces Fifth Wave of Damage: A Community’s Resilience Tested

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Trip SF, a classic retailer situated in San Francisco’s North Seashore neighborhood, stated it’s recovering from an early Thursday morning housebreaking.

A male suspect was captured on surveillance video breaking into the Grant Road retailer at 5 a.m., smashing the window on the entrance door and stealing a handful of things.

Trip SF stated in a social media publish, “The scoundrel stole our Gummo bunny hat, and our freaky 30s handmade snowman mask – if anyone out there sees these floating down the street, please grab them for us, they were beloved fixtures in the shop!”

Proprietor Kristin Klein stated the harm from this newest break-in marks the fifth time in six years that they must change glass doorways and home windows to their enterprise.

“We got lucky this time,” Klein informed KRON4. “The alarms went off, the police were here, the neighbors called in 911 reports. It’s not as horribly damaged as it has been in the past but it’s crazy that it keeps happening.”

Klein moved Trip SF from the town’s Tenderloin District to North Seashore just a few years in the past and she or he stated she loves the neighborhood. She hopes the town can step up efforts to guard small companies who’ve been repeatedly robbed.

“I don’t know what the right answer is for that, but I know that it’s not right for every business owner ranking the trauma of each time they are broken into and expecting it to happen again,” stated Klein.

The San Francisco Police Division (SFPD) is investigating this case.

“We had so many people saying, ‘What can we do? How can we support you?’ said Klein. “It’s simply ‘buy groceries.’ There are such a lot of small companies in San Francisco and that’s the primary strategy to assist any of them. Stroll right down to the shop and purchase one thing.”

SFPD stated no arrests have been made and the suspect has not been recognized.
