SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Reem’s, a preferred Arab road meals restaurant with two places in San Francisco, introduced Monday that it could be closing its SF Ferry Constructing location. Reem’s, which opened on the Ferry Constructing in 2022, posted on Instagram that it could be shuttering that location on the finish of January.
“We have some sad news. We are sad to announce that Friday January 31 will be our last day of service at the Ferry Building,” the publish learn.
Based on Reem’s, the closure is the surprising results of the Ferry Constructing selecting to not renew their lease so as to make method for development.

“When the opportunity arose to build permanent space in the Ferry Building two years ago, we jumped at the chance, opening our corner kiosk and dreaming of one day building out a kitchen where we could bake bread on-site on a beautiful central saj (a domed griddle used to bake Middle Eastern flatbread) for everyone to see,” the publish learn.
“However, last month, we learned property ownership had other sudden plans,” it continued. “We were informed that our current space would be needed for reconstruction and that our lease would not be renewed. With no viable alternative space available, this chapter of our story has come to an end.”
The publish went on to impart a number of phrases on the challenges of working a small enterprise within the present market.
“Every week we open our feed to see another beloved small business closing its doors due to unsustainable conditions,” the publish learn. “The closure of our Ferry Building store will impact our Reem’s team and operations as a whole. If we are to survive as a small business, we need our community to continue showing us love by dining and getting takeout from our restaurant, ordering our catering, buying our products at grocery stores, and attending our special events like Sunday Suppers.”
Reem’s opened to some fanfare, when it took over the kiosk previously occupied by Cowgirl Creamery in November of 2022. The restaurant was launched by chef Reem Assil who operates one other Reem’s location in SF’s Mission District.
