San Francico-based Stripe lays off 300 staff

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — On-line funds platform Stripe has laid off 300 staff, KRON4.com has confirmed. Based on a report in Enterprise Insider that was later confirmed by a Stripe consultant, the job cuts principally impression these in Stripe’s product, engineering and operations divisions.

The job cuts characterize about 3.5% of Stripe’s workforce. Stripe maintains twin headquarters, one in Dublin, Eire and one other on San Francisco’s Townsend Road.

Citing a leaked memo, BI mentioned staff have been knowledgeable of the job cuts on Monday in an electronic mail from the corporate’s chief individuals officer, Rob McIntosh. Staff who misplaced jobs will obtain a severance package deal that features their earned annual bonus, the memo mentioned.

“The Business Insider is accurate,” a Stripe spokesperson informed KRON4.com. “We are not commenting beyond the memo that was included in the Business Insider story.”

Regardless of slicing a whole bunch of jobs, Stripe remains to be hiring. Based on the memo, the corporate plans to “grow headcount across all our locations,” to achieve a companywide headcount of 10,000 by the top of the 12 months.

At the moment, in line with BI, Stripe has about 8,500 staff.
