Susanna Torres — Bizzy Match Meals’ proprietor, cook dinner and designer of the aprons — referred to as the thefts “heartbreaking.”

“I have flat screen TVs in here, there was a tablet,” mentioned Torres. “There were other high-value items. Those were not taken. What they were just concerned about was the quick turnaround which is maybe to feed an addiction. So what hit me is how bad the situation is.”

“The amount of activity that I see here, it is definitely scary,” Torres continued. “I don’t ever take out the garbage without looking left or right.”

Torres mentioned she knew when she opened her store that it was going to be a problem. She grew up in East San Jose and needed to make a change within the neighborhood.

“Many people have not seen a balanced meal before,” mentioned Torres. “There are a lot of people in this area that are not bilingual and maybe they’re combatting cholesterol, or they need weight loss help and if we don’t bring the help here, they’re not going to go out.”

Torres mentioned she is left with an eyesore, however she’s not letting that cease her and her mission for her group.
