(KRON) — The San Leandro Police Division has launched the names of three officers concerned in a taking pictures incident with a vehicular assault suspect final Sunday.

San Leandro PD stated officers had been investigating a vehicular assault at 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 16 when police positioned the suspect and their car within the space of 164th Avenue and East 14th Road. Police stated shortly after a taking pictures occurred involving three SLPD officers.
Police stated the suspect was taken into custody and confirmed that the officers and suspect weren’t injured.
On Friday, the San Leandro Police Division recognized the officers concerned within the incident as:
Officer Blake Staniford – 3 years’ expertise as an officer.
Officer Austin Lovel – 2 years’ expertise as an officer.
Officer Quinton Might – 3.5 years’ expertise as an officer.
“We recognize the seriousness of this incident and want to reassure the community that it is being thoroughly and objectively investigated,” stated San Leandro Police Chief Chief Angela Averiett. “Our department remains dedicated to upholding the highest standards and adhering to ethical practices.”
The Alameda County Sheriff’s Workplace stated it’s persevering with to research the circumstances surrounding the taking pictures.
