Security cameras observe alleged San Leandro Quik Cease robber to Oakland

(KRON) — An Oakland man was arrested Wednesday after San Leandro police mentioned he robbed a comfort retailer with a handgun.

The San Leandro Police Division (SLPD) responded round 2:15 p.m. to the Quik Cease positioned at 1001 MacArthur Boulevard for a report of an armed theft. Arriving officers realized {that a} suspect brandished a handgun on the retailer clerk and demanded cash.

The Quik Cease worker opened the money register and handed over the cash, police mentioned.

Utilizing public security cameras, SLPD mentioned detectives tracked the suspect car to Oakland. It was decided that the car was reported as stolen.

Authorities positioned the suspect, recognized as 51-year-old Deamous McKinley, close to Foothill Boulevard and twenty third Avenue in Oakland. Police arrested McKinley with help from the Oakland Police Division’s air unit, SLPD mentioned.

A handgun and money have been recovered, in keeping with police. McKinley faces prices of theft, possession of a stolen car and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
