“The Presidio is more than a park; it is a treasured part of San Francisco’s history, culture, and environment,” stated Sherrill, whose district the Presidio falls in. “From a historic landmark to its community programs and protected natural habitats, the Presidio is a local and national treasure.”

The funding for the Presidio, which is meant to deal with a number of upkeep points and enhance the park’s local weather resiliency, was accepted in former President Joe Biden’s 2022 Inflation Discount Act that was handed by a bipartisan vote in Congress.

“To claw back this investment is not only short-sighted; it is a clear partisan attack on a space that serves as a model for preservation and community-building,” Sherrill stated. “As the Supervisor for District 2, which includes the Presidio, I will continue to advocate for its protection and improvement. I urge my colleagues at every level of government to stand against efforts that threaten critical funding for our natural spaces and protected parks.”
