(KRON) — As San Francisco continues to battle unlawful drug markets that pop up all through town, the San Francisco Police Division introduced that officers took dozens of suspected drug offenders into custody Wednesday evening.

San Francisco police stated their cellular command van has a 24-hour seen presence at sixteenth and Mission streets, within the metropolis’s Mission District neighborhood, to “ensure the area is safe and clean.”
On this newest slew of arrests, police stated officers nabbed 23 people within the space on numerous drug costs. It’s not but recognized if this was a deliberate drug arrest operation.
In a SFPD video put up on X, previously Twitter, Police Chief Invoice Scott stated, “the mission is clear and concise is to have an SFPD presence on this plaza where we’ve had all kinds of problems: vending, drug use, drug sales. The one thing we know from our experience is that when we’re here, and we have a presence here, those problems seem to be far fewer.”
San Francisco police added, “we will never stop combatting the illegal drug markets in our city. Thank you to our city partners @SheriffSF and @sfpublicworks for your support in this work.”
