Tragic Hit-and-Run: Hayward Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Incident

(KRON) — A pedestrian in Hayward was killed in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday morning, in keeping with the Hayward Police Division. Investigators are trying to find the driving force who fled the scene.

Police responded at 6:56 a.m. to the world of Hesperian Boulevard and Sueirro Avenue on the report of a hit-and-run collision between an SUV and a pedestrian. Authorities stated witnesses situated the pedestrian, later recognized as a 51-year-old man from Hayward, within the heart median.

First responders tried life-saving measures earlier than the person was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Witnesses who noticed the fleeing SUV described it as white and medium sized, police stated. It was final seen going southbound on Hesperian Boulevard.

The title of the pedestrian was not launched pending notification of subsequent of kin.
