Vallejo College Implements Contingency Plans After Disruptive Copper Theft Cancels Classes

(KRON) — A Vallejo college is quickly closed after a significant copper theft on Friday. Solano Widenmann Management Academy college students may have their routine lessons halted because of the theft that has brought on the varsity’s electrical energy programs to be “severely damaged.”

Though the Vallejo Metropolis Unified College District (VCUSD) stated in an announcement Sunday that in-person lessons could be canceled utterly, contingency plans have been introduced for college kids to expertise minimal disruption of their research.

Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 29, there will likely be six different studying hubs, VCUSD introduced Monday.

Whereas crews work to restore the harm at Solano Widenmann Management Academy, lecturers have assigned college students to finish impartial research work. Though it’s non-obligatory, households are inspired to register their college students in one of many six hubs.

In line with VCUSD, the schedule is as follows.

Wednesday: Minimal-day schedule (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.).

Thursday and Friday: Transitional kindergarten (TK) and kindergarten dismiss at 1:30 p.m.; grades 1-8 dismiss at 3 p.m.

Meals: Free breakfast and lunch will likely be supplied in any respect hub places.

Expanded Studying: Further data will likely be supplied for college kids collaborating in expanded studying packages at their hub college.

For individuals who elect to not attend a hub, college employees will likely be obtainable at Solano Widenmann on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to three p.m. to provide out impartial research supplies.

“We are committed to ensuring that our students’ education remains as uninterrupted as possible,” VCUSD Superintendent Rubén Aurelio stated. “The dedicated staff at Solano Widenmann Leadership Academy has worked rapidly to prepare learning materials and establish a system that keeps our students engaged during this temporary closure.”
