Vallejo police use chemical substances to arrest man who fired gun in resort: VPD

(KRON) — A person was arrested at a Vallejo resort on Wednesday after he fired a gun contained in the constructing, the Vallejo Police Division stated. Police had to make use of “chemical agents” to get the suspect out after he barricaded himself inside his resort room.

In response to Solano County Jail information, the taking pictures occurred at 2070 Solano Ave., which is the handle of the Tremendous 8 by Wyndham resort.

VPD officers responded at about 8:28 p.m. Resort staffers and different witnesses stated 36-year-old Jeffrey Joseph Caldwell brandished a gun and started firing unprovoked.

Officers evacuated all staff and visitors from the resort as they tried to arrest Caldwell, who didn’t give up, VPD stated.

VPD introduced in personnel from its SWAT and negotiation groups. California Freeway Patrol shut down two on-ramps of Interstate 80 and Solano Avenue for public security.

After a number of failed makes an attempt to speak with Caldwell, the SWAT group launched chemical substances, and he was arrested at about 12:51 a.m.

Police discovered an unregistered gun within the room. Caldwell is a convicted felon who had a no-bail arrest warrant issued on Tuesday for violating the circumstances of his parole.

He was arrested for a number of felonies, together with assault with a lethal weapon, parole violation, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
