Victory for Hilton Staff: 3-Month SF Lodge Strike Comes to a Close with New Contract!

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Francisco Hilton staff will finish their three-month strike after they reached a brand new contract, in keeping with the employees’ union.

The brand new contract brings an finish to the seen lodge strikes this 12 months that included the Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt lodges. Marriott and Hyatt staff reached agreements final week.

The Hilton strike lasted 93 days, in keeping with the UNITE HERE Native 2 union. Staff picketed day by day in Union Sq., which comprises Hilton and Hyatt places within the space.

Staff will vote to ratify the contract on Tuesday. It’s the similar contract that Hyatt and Marriott staff agreed to final week. The four-year deal will protect staff’ union medical health insurance plan, present wage will increase all through the contract and shield towards understaffing, the union stated.

“These 93 days have not been easy, and I’m so proud that my coworkers and I never gave up,” stated Invoice Fung, a janitor on the Hilton San Francisco Union Sq. for 29 years. “We stood together through the rain and cold, and even though there were some hard days, it was all worth it. We will go back to work with our health care, good raises, and the confidence of knowing that when we fight, we win.”

About 900 staff will likely be coated by the brand new settlement, together with 650 staff who’ve been putting on the Hilton San Francisco Union Sq..
