WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (KRON) — The homeowners of a Mexican present store are nervous they have been the victims of a hate-vandalism/” title=”San Jose police investigating Christmas Day … vandalism”>hate crime. Somebody vandalized the enterprise, and it was the one retailer on the block hit.

Proprietor Erika Pantoja factors to the picket board, changing the window to her enterprise shattered early Saturday morning. “All the glass was broken — everything. You know, all over,” Pantoja stated.

The door of Portal Artesanal has already been fastened, however it’s going to take a little bit longer to restore the window. “It’s gonna cost about $3,000,” Pantoja stated.

“That’s sad because we need to be, now, alert for something else or whatever that could happen,” she stated.

“I hope that the city, the community are able to see that we are, the Latino, Hispanic community are here, and then only want to make it for ourselves, for our families and also our communities,” Pantoja stated.

This July will mark two years for Pantoja at this Walnut Creek retailer. She says that is the primary time her enterprise has been burglarized.
