(KRON) — The Hayward Police Division is praising the fast actions of an officer who saved a child from choking. The heroic second was caught on video.
Officer Gonzalez was starting his shift on Feb. 5 when a household flagged him down. He was instructed that their 11-month-old child woman was probably choking.
“Without hesitation, Officer Gonzalez immediately took action, performing first aid to help the baby,” Hayward police mentioned.

After a short while of assist, the infant spit up a small rubber band.
Hayward Hearth assessed the infant after Gonzalez’s rescue.
Hayward PD mentioned the officer’s “quick actions made all the difference, turning a potential tragedy into a moment of relief and gratitude for this family.”
