Wild wrong-way police chase in North Bay ends in crash

(KRON) — A person was arrested after main regulation enforcement on a prolonged chase Monday afternoon within the North Bay, the San Rafael Police Division mentioned. The suspect automobile was linked to a business housebreaking that occurred in Rohnert Park two days earlier.

Regulation enforcement positioned the automobile on East Cotati Avenue close to Sonoma State College. When Rohnert Park Division of Public Security officers tried to cease the automobile, the motive force tried to ram a police automobile, SRPD mentioned.

RPDPS chased the automobile till it approached US-101, at which level it stopped the pursuit for public security functions. The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Workplace used a helicopter to observe the suspect.

California Freeway Patrol started to pursue the automobile because it went southbound on US-101. At one level, the suspect moved into the northbound lanes, driving the flawed approach in opposition to visitors.

CHP stopped northbound US-101 visitors on the Interstate 580 interchange to guard the general public. The automobile was going about 50 miles per hour in the direction of bystanders when an SRPD officer used his automobile to pin the suspect automobile in opposition to the concrete wall of the freeway shoulder.

The automobile smashed into the police automobile and have become disabled. Its momentum carried it into one other automobile. Pictures shared by SRPD present a chaotic scene with a wrecked automobile and a number of police vehicles.

The suspect was arrested after a brief standoff. No one concerned suffered main accidents, police mentioned.

The suspect was recognized as Casey Joseph Beck, 36, of Antioch. He’s anticipated to be charged with a number of felony counts of assault with a lethal weapon on an officer and business housebreaking.
