Wind advisory in impact for elements of the Bay Space

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A wind advisory is in impact for elements of the Bay Space Tuesday. The advisory went into impact at 7 p.m. Monday evening and can stay in impact till 10 a.m. Wednesday, in line with the Nationwide Climate Service.

An preliminary wind advisory issued Monday for the North Bay inside mountains and East Bay hills has been expanded. The advisory, in line with the NWS, now contains:

North Bay inside mountains

Japanese Santa Clara hills

Marin hills

San Francisco Peninsula coast

Santa Cruz Mountains

San Francisco

San Francisco bayshore

East Bay inside valleys

The climate service is advising folks to count on northerly to northeasterly winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts of as much as 40 to 50 mph attainable. Gusts of 25 to 35 mph may unfold into the valleys Tuesday with gusty situations anticipated to proceed over the following 24 hours.

“Clear isn’t always calm,” the NWS mentioned. “Even on a clear day, gusty winds can be dangerous. Objects that are not secured can be rolled or tossed. Use caution when driving, especially high-profile vehicles.”

In El Granada North of Half Moon Bay, Tuesday’s winds led to downed bushes and particles within the roadway.

The NWS recommends securing out of doors objects, and being conscious of downed bushes and attainable energy outages.
