“They often say justice delayed is justice denied, but not in this case,” Jenkins stated. “I am grateful to the victim’s friends and family who have stood with us over the years as we fought for justice.”

In line with testimony, on the morning of July 16, 2017, the sufferer, Edward French, had visited the Twin Peaks viewpoint to take images along with his new Canon digicam. Surveillance footage confirmed his closing moments as Decuir and Mims approached and robbed him at gunpoint. In line with the D.A.’s workplace, Decuir shot French by means of the guts and proper lung as Mims grabbed the digicam bag. After the sufferer collapsed, he was kicked, and the defendants fled the scene. Lower than an hour after the homicide, Mims allegedly tried to promote the digicam close to seventh and Market Streets. The 2 have been later recognized after robbing vacationers of a digicam and bank cards at gunpoint within the Cathedral Hill space on July 28, 2017.

Assistant District Legal professional Heather Trevisan added, “Though nothing will actually heal the anguish attributable to this callous mindless homicide, we’re relieved that Ms. Decuir and Mr. Mims will be unable to harm anybody else in our neighborhood ever once more.”
